Application Instructions


Depending on the instructions in each individual job posting, you may apply for posted positions and submit the completed application. You have four ways to complete your application:

  3. Read the description and the requirements
  4. Click "Apply Online" button
  5. Create an account or Log in to your existing account
  6. Follow the instructions and complete your application
  7. Submit your application

By email

  3. Open the file with Adobe Reader or any other PDF reader that allows form filling
  4. Fill completely the form
  5. Save your document
  6. Send an email to hr@ci.elgin.tx.us attaching the completed form

Interviews


Applications are reviewed. A phone interview and an in person interview may follow for qualified applicants.
 
Note: Pre-employment background and drug screenings are conducted by the City prior to hiring. Depending on the position, a physical examination and/or psychological examination also may be required. All records are safeguarded in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

**Active Applications: Active applications are kept on file for 2 years from the date of receipt. One application per position may be accepted. An Active application is any application being submitted for a current listed open position within the City. An application submitted for “any”, a position that is not currently open, or any incomplete application will not be considered “Active” for the purposes of Local Government Retention Schedules and will be disposed of as soon as no longer needed for immediate operations.
